His Majesty King Charles III Opens the UK Space and Defence Gateway at Open Cosmos Headquarters

n Friday, His Majesty King Charles III officially opened the new UK Space and Defence Gateway at the Harwell Campus, where the Open Cosmos headquarters are located.

Our COO, Aleix Megias, and the wider Open Cosmos team had the privilege of meeting The King and demonstrating how our satellite missions and data platforms deliver the actionable insights needed to help protect our planet.

The occasion closely reflected the principles of the Astra Carta, a framework launched by His Majesty to help ensure the global space economy scales sustainably. Using space to address urgent environmental challenges here on Earth is central to why Open Cosmos exists, and it was a genuine honour to showcase that work on this stage.
