Environmental Impact: Objective

As a leading satellite manufacturer dedicated to environmental responsibility, we seek to minimise our ecological footprint while empowering our clients with actionable insights globally.

The shared infrastructure supporting our services reflects our commitment to resource conservation, contributing to the collective use of space resources and thereby mitigating the generation of space debris and waste. Sustainable practices are at the heart of our design, sourcing, manufacturing, and processes, ensuring resource efficiency and waste reduction in the satellite production and assembly phases.

Through material selection, energy-efficient production techniques, and streamlined transportation logistics, we work to reduce emissions and conserve natural resources. Our commitment extends to end-of-life strategies, emphasising responsible disposal and recycling methods during the manufacturing process.

Environmental Impact: 2022

In 2022, we took steps towards environmental accountability by initiating reporting on our greenhouse gas emissions and materials sourcing. With a specific focus on conflict minerals, particularly crucial for our business heavily involved in rare earth metals, this became a pivotal aspect of our environmental reporting and a high-risk area for compliance.

Through collaboration with our suppliers, we mapped out our environmental impact, working together to reduce emissions where possible. This also extended to a comprehensive examination of our product carbon footprint, leading to strategic actions aimed at limiting their impact while ensuring the continued delivery of valuable data.

In 2023

Moving into 2023, we maintained an impressive 85% engagement with our suppliers on various environmental impact areas, such as water stress, energy efficiency, and conflict minerals sourcing. Our reporting in these areas now includes their contribution to our products and services, aligned with industry-specific methodologies for reporting such information. To reduce our emissions, we've undertaken targeted practices such as global emissions reporting pledges and necessary steps outlined in the reporting methodology. Demonstrating our commitment to minimising our carbon footprint, we have adopted the European Space Agency's life cycle analysis methodology for assessing the embodied carbon in our products and anticipate further collaboration with LCAs.
