Social Impact: Objective

At Open Cosmos, our Social Impact initiative is geared towards fostering an environment where everyone feels acknowledged, heard, and understood.

Social Impact: Spotlight

Our primary focus is on creating a methodology that respects individuals' rights to privacy, personal values, and constitutional rights while achieving our social impact goals. Recognising the diverse nature of personal freedoms across regions, we invested effort in formulating approaches aligned with the laws and best practices of each country. This approach ensured adherence to legal and ethical standards before advancing our broader objectives.

Moreover, we contributed to charitable causes that align with our values, supporting three charities in 2022 and four in 2023. We responded to global emergencies and actively engaged with local communities, with many team members dedicating their time to various STEM pursuits, such as giving talks to young people at local schools and universities

In 2022

In 2022, we developed a framework for social impact monitoring and improvement areas. We used this to monitor microscale diversity within and maintained a commitment to giving back to our communities through various charitable practices.

In 2023

Open Cosmos initiated anonymised surveys to assess its internal workforce diversity. We transitioned from data collection through the people team to an anonymised survey process aligned with the legislation in the countries where we operate. This voluntary survey approach aimed to identify internal diversity key performance indicators (KPIs) and guide decisions on fostering inclusivity and equality within our organisation.

The survey was highly successful, with 76.7% voluntary participation, aligning with the overall engagement rate for the company. This participation underscores Open Cosmos as an engaged and involved collective, emphasising our commitment to creating an inclusive workforce through the power of our voices. The specific types of diversity data collected include Gender, Race, Religion, Age, and Nationality, selected carefully to monitor without infringing on the privacy of our employees, considering our global presence and diverse stakeholders
